Environmentally Friendly SIPs

Renewable Natural Resources

Tanguay Homes uses environmentally friendly OSB as the facings for our SIPs. Using fast growing poplar and aspen that is harvested young on a tree farm for the OSB is essential to keeping it green. Using newer and faster growing trees protects the old growth forests. Because of this OSB is referred to as a sustainable and renewable natural resource.

 Non-Toxic Chemicals

The use of EPS foam as the insulating agent in Tanguay Homes Structural insulated panels (SIPs) helps us to do our part in reducing ozone depletion because they do not contain any Formaldehyde or C.F.C’s: the disastrous compound.
SIPS protect our environment futher by reducing emissions caused by heating and cooling, improving indoor air quality, and increasing energy efficiency by up to 70%.
On average the R-value of SIPs outperforms other traditional walls allowing for homeowners to have more efficient control over the heating and cooling in their homes.
